MARIE SKLODOWSKA-CURIE RISE - RESEARCH AND INNOVATION STAFF EXCHANGE

The RISE scheme promotes international and inter-sector collaboration through research and innovation staff exchanges, and sharing of knowledge and ideas from research to market (and vice-versa) for the advancement of science and the development of innovation.

RISE involves organisations from the academic and non-academic sectors (in particular SMEs), based in Europe (EU Member States and Associated Countries) and outside Europe (third countries).

Support is provided for the development of partnerships in the form of joint research and innovation activities between the participants. Exchanges can be for both early-stage and experienced researchers' levels and can also include administrative, managerial and technical staff supporting the research and innovation activities of the proposal.

ERA-Net ANIWHA - COORDINATION OF EUROPEAN RESEARCH ON ANIMAL HEALTH AND WELFARE

The 3rd call for research proposals was published for the following topics:

  • Disease control and surveillance
    The topic addresses very specifically the subtopics: active surveillance, disease modelling, vector borne diseases, vaccination and the role of wild life reservoirs.
  • Production diseases
    The topic addresses very specifically the subtopics: infection dynamics on‐farm, antimicrobial and anti‐parasitic treatment.
  • Animal Welfare
    The topic addresses very specifically the subtopics: databases and automatic recording systems, research on dairy cattle, pigs, broilers, laying hens and fish.

The pre-proposal should contains information on all consortium partners, an abstract, and project aims, description, keywords, added value of international collaboration, a Gantt chart and an overview of project costs as outlined in the guidelines.

EU Joint Programme – Neurodegenerative Disease Research (JPND)

Joint Transnational Call for Research Proposals – Preannouncement As part of this new initiative, JPND will launch a joint transnational call for proposals in January 2015 aimed at supporting transnational research collaborations in three JPND priority areas:

  • Longitudinal Cohorts
  • Advanced Experimental Models
  • Risk and Protective Factors

The aim of the call is to support a limited number of ambitious, high level, innovative, multi-national and multi-disciplinary collaborative research projects that will add value to the respective research areas.

The official call is expected early January 2015, with a likely first stage (pre-proposal submission) deadline of March 2015.

Interreg Baltic Sea Region Programme 2014-2020

Interreg Baltic Sea Region is an EU funding programme that facilitates transnational cooperation in the region. The start of the new Programme was just announced. The main objectives are:

  • Priority 1, "Capacity for innovation", will offer support for e.g. development of innovation infrastructures, implementation of smart specialisation strategies and development of non-technological innovations.
  • Priority 2, "Efficient management of natural resources", highlights the need to manage natural resources more efficiently. Resource efficient blue growth, renewable energy sources, energy efficiency and clear waters are examples of the areas that will receive support.
  • Priority 3 will concentrate on "Sustainable transport". Here themes such as accessibility of remote areas, maritime safety, environmentally friendly shipping and urban mobility will attract project proposals.
  • Priority 4 offers support to the stakeholders of the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region.

Applicants will have to follow a two‐step proposal procedure. The features of the new programme and all related documents can be found here.
