Succesful ScanBalt Forum 2014

The Healthy Ageing Network Northern Netherlands had the honor to host the annual ScanBalt Forum, which took place from 8-10 October in the University Medical Center Groningen. As an EU reference site for Active & Healthy Ageing, the event focused on the scientific and bio-economic aspects of the demographic change taking place in Northern Europe.

At the general assembly for the not-for-profit association ScanBalt fmba 8th of October in Groningen during the annual ScanBalt Forum, 3 new vice chairmen were elected.


SEK 620 million investment in the life sciences in Gothenburg

An initiative to create a new centre for molecular medicine at the University of Gothenburg has been launched, with funding of at least SEK 620 million (67 million euro) from the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation, the University of Gothenburg, AstraZeneca and Region Västra Götaland. Cancer, obesity and diabetes are just some of the areas highlighted for research.
